The Sun Dancers Radio Control
Club, Inc. was started on February 24, 1988. The
organizational meeting selected the club name,
adopted a constitution and bylaws, and elected the
officers. The first President was Gary Balard, Vice
President Frank Mangus, Secretary Larry Olsen and
Treasurer Leo Fring. The club started with 23
members. The club received its Academy of Model
Aeronautics Charter No 2375 in April 1988 and became
a State of Florida Corporation on May 4. 1988. By
the end of 1988 the membership was up to 125.

180. We have two flying fields, Details

Club membership offers a number
of benefits. The main benefit is use of the flying
sites maintained by the club dues and insured by the
AMA. The club also publishes a bi-monthly newsletter
called "The Tale Spinner." The newsletter has
reports of the club meetings, and on the activities

The club has training for new
fliers. You can learn to fly with your own plane or
by renting a plane from one of the instructors if
you don't have a plane. Flying lessons are free for
club members with their own planes. The training

Club meetings are held
bimonthly at the Midway Field on the first Saturday
of the month after the first Thursday of the month.
The meeting starts at 11 AM. The regular
meeting is followed by a Show and Tell Program where
members bring their latest models and talk about
their planes.
We fly seven days a week. Come
and watch the fun. Spectators are welcome. If you
